Grey Matter Social Space is governed by a set of house rules that all members are expected to adhere to. The wilful contravention of these set rules to suspension or termination of membership without refund or recourse.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Grey Matter Social Space operates within the days and hours of:

Monday – Thursday: 9am – 12am
Friday – Sunday: 9am – 2am

Grey Matter Social Space reserves the right to change or adjust working hours and shut down facilities with good notice sent out to patrons via their preferred method of communication.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Every member shall pay a subscription in advance, the sum of which shall be set by management, and they shall not be considered a member until payment has been made.
Subscriptions are due monthly and a member who has not paid their subscription by the 30th of any month shall cease to make use of the facility under an active subscription and all concessions of said subscription be withdrawn. Such member shall be denied entrance into the access-controlled areas until subscription is paid

MEMBERSHIP CARDS

Membership cards will have unique serial numbers tied to the individual member’s KYC. All personal information provided to us will be handled with accordance to a requisite privacy policy

Members will also be expected to present their cards, if asked, when they sit to eat or drink.

Membership may be suspended or terminated where a member allows his/her card to be used by a non-member in their absence without prior notice or authorization.

If a membership card is stolen, members must notify management immediately.

GUESTS

Members are allowed to bring in a maximum of 3 guests at a time with allowance for maximum of 10 when booking for a meeting or to dine at the restaurant. The guests will be restricted to the member’s access areas as well as the general areas and guest details must be registered in advance.

Members are responsible for their guests adherence to house rules and policies and will be liable or held accountable for all violations, damages, actions of and injury to their invited guests.

NON-MEMBERS

Non-members will be allowed to experience the non-exclusive areas on a strict reservation basis which will be subject to availability.

PRIVACY

Members must remain respectful of the privacy of other members and guests at all times. The use of discretion must be accorded to all individual or social activities.

Grey Matter Social Space retains the right to have surveillance cameras the general areas for the good and safety of all patrons. Footage from these cameras will be handled with the highest discretionary measures.

MOBILE PHONES

The use of mobile phones on the premises is permitted. However, members are entreated to be considerate of others when using their phones to reduce any level of disturbance. Loud videos, audios or calls must be played through headphones when within shared spaces.

DRUGS & ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES

Grey Matter Social Space runs a no-tolerance policy to the use of drugs and other illegal substances within its premises. The possession, distribution or ingestion of drugs and illegal substances by members or their guests is highly prohibited and is grounds for immediate ejection from the premises, suspension or termination of membership.

BILLS

There are no credit facilities and all bills must be settled before exiting the building. Members are responsible for their guests’ bills and it will be deducted from their tabs.

FOOD & BEVERAGES

Food and beverages purchased externally will not be allowed into or consumed within Grey Matter Social Space.

PRIVATE HIRE & MAINTENANCE

Grey Matter Social Space may close off part or the entire building to members and guests for private events or requisite maintenance, repair or decorations – but will ensure that all closed off areas are reopened as soon as possible.

Grey Matter Social Space reserves the right to shut down facilities for social activities and events.

ANIMALS

No animals are permitted at Grey Matter Social Space.

SMOKING POLICY

Smoking of cigars or cigarettes are restricted to the cigar room and other clearly signed areas of the premises at the rear of the premises only. Smoking of cigars or cigarettes is not permitted within the restaurant, first floor landing, workspace or playroom. All members and guests are obligated to abide by Grey Matter Social Space’s current smoking policy. The management reserves the right to make changes to the designated smoking areas at their own discretion.

DISCIPLINARY PROCESS

Any conduct by a member or guest that is prejudicial to the reputation and character of Grey Matter Social Space may result in the suspension or expulsion of that member or guest. Such conduct may include violent, abusive or intolerant behaviour, the theft or destruction of property, or the sharing of members’ information.

All members must abide by the rules and regulations of Grey Matter Social Space at all times. If management considers that any member or guest’s conduct either is contradictory to the house rules, Grey Matter Social Space may expel the Member from the premises and/or suspend or terminate that member’s membership without providing any reason.

An expelled Member may not return to Grey Matter Social Space as a guest.

RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERSHIP

A Member shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of Grey Matter Social Space and shall be bound by these rules but shall have no proprietary rights in any of the premises or in respect of the property of Grey Matter Social Space.

AMENDMENTS TO THE RULES OF THE MINISTRY

The management reserves the right to change the house rules at any moment. Such changes can be found on the website and will be communicated to members via their preferred means as explicitly stated during their registration.

INTERPRETATION OF THE RULES

In the event of any dispute arising as to the meaning or interpretation of these House Rules, the matter shall be referred to the management, whose decision with respect to your membership shall be final and without appeal. These House Rules are incorporated into your agreement with Grey Matter Social Space and shall be interpreted and enforced in accordance with the Nigerian Law.
